Anderson Townsend, AT

Welcome to Military Magnet Academy

First, allow me to say I am proud and honored to be the principal at the Military Magnet Academy for the past thirteen years.

I received my undergraduate degree in history from the University of Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland, and my Master of Arts degree in Teaching from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, Alaska. I received my Master of Arts degree in school administration and Specialist in Education degree from the Citadel, Charleston, SC. I started my career in education as a middle school social studies teacher after 26 years of active military duty. While on active duty, I served as an Airborne Ranger Infantryman.

The Military Magnet Academy is a caring school where all cadets are challenged to learn every day.  The Military Magnet Academy prepares students to become competent, disciplined, and responsible citizens by providing the necessary learning environment.  The Military Magnet Academy is committed to student academics, extracurricular activities, and parent and community involvement.   The academic program develops the whole person by providing a foundation for success in today’s world of high technology.
